Volkswagen Group Services GmbH was founded in April 2001 - at that time, it was called Autovision GmbH. It has been offering since then first-class services in processes and personnel. AutoVision GmbH was renamed Volkswagen Group Services GmbH on 1 January 2018. The new name of AutoVision GmbH reflects the company’s strategic orientation towards the Group as a whole, including its brands and companies. AutoVision GmbH was assigned to the Volkswagen Group as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand at the beginning of 2017.  Consequently, both the internal and external appearance of the Group's wholly-owned subsidiary was also changed as of 1 January 2018.

With currently around 8,820 employees* in Germany, the company in the Volkswagen Group is one of the most dynamic and successful companies in Lower Saxony. Volkswagen Group Services GmbH has thirteen German locations and approximately 2,770 employees* at six international locations. The headquarters are in Wolfsburg (*as of December 2018).

With its numerous locations and brands, Volkswagen Group Services GmbH is the experienced and competent service partner in and around the Volkswagen Group. German and international customers are usually supported by works or service contracts; new projects are jointly developed and individually designed according to customer specifications.

With its specific expertise, skilled personnel and specialists, Volkswagen Group Services GmbH helps to optimise processes, establish new processes or design individual projects or entire parts of the company as an independent service task. With competitive costs and flexible personnel structures, support is provided along the entire automotive value chain. Examples include cross-location projects in the areas of procurement, customer care services and quality assurance, as well as services in the fields of research and development, test construction, test and measurement technology and logistics control and support.

The good and stable collective bargaining framework for core and permanent employees, which was developed over many years in cooperation with IG Metall, is ground-breaking in Germany and competitively positions Volkswagen Group Services GmbH as a reliable and fair partner for its customers. Via an online application management system used to recruit specialists for the various service segments, Volkswagen Group Services GmbH optimally and quickly unites modern business requirements with suitable applicants. This "career portal" flexibly enables both large-volume personnel requirements and the recruitment of specialists. This advanced, online recruiting process - also standard in the Volkswagen Group as SAP E-Recruiting - reflects the customer’s requirements: from specific process development and applicant administration to the hiring of suitable applicants for the customers.

Our company development

Since its foundation in 2001, Volkswagen Group Services GmbH - originally called AutoVision GmbH - has been performing very successfully and has since then offered first-class process and personnel services. Let's take a look back at our beginnings:

On the city’s 60th birthday in 1998, Volkswagen gave the city of Wolfsburg a promise to reduce local unemployment by half in the near term. Wolfsburg AG was founded in 1999 with the aim of developing a sustainable economic and employment perspective. In reducing the dependence of the region and its jobs on the automotive industry, the goal was to make Wolfsburg location more attractive for the creation of additional jobs.

For legal reasons, AutoVision GmbH emanated from this branch of Wolfsburg AG as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG in 2001. This made it possible to also offer process and personnel services outside the Wolfsburg region. In its rapid and successful development, AutoVision was considered one of the most dynamic companies in Lower Saxony.
In January 2014, the temporary employment services were transferred to AutoVision Zeitarbeit GmbH. In recent years, Volkswagen Group Services GmbH has undergone major changes and has developed steadily together with our customers - most recently with the renaming of our company: AutoVision GmbH was renamed Volkswagen Group Services GmbH on 1 January 2018. The new name reflects the company's strategic orientation towards the Volkswagen Group as a whole, its brands and numerous companies. AutoVision GmbH had been financially and organisationally assigned to the Volkswagen Group already at the beginning of 2017.  Consequently, the internal and external appearance of the Group's wholly-owned subsidiary was also changed as of 1 January 2018.

Volkswagen Group Services GmbH will thus continue to present itself in future as a good partner in the Volkswagen Group. Volkswagen Group Services GmbH currently employs approximately 8,820 people at 13 locations in Germany and around 2,770 people at six locations in Europe (as of December 2018). The five business divisions of Engineering, Production, Logistics, Data Engineering (IT), Commercial Services (including Catering and Event and Health Services) still have great potential for the successful further development of Volkswagen Group Services GmbH, both in Germany and internationally.
