In the Software Development department of Volkswagen Group Services GmbH, we develop software components for the steering and battery systems of the Volkswagen Group. Our employees work in the development areas of function development, basic software, diagnostics, test and test management systems,tooling and qualification of software tools. Parallel to development are the areas of requirements and change management, series support and release management.
Software development is the key competence in the changing Volkswagen Group. We develop the software of today and tomorrow, from the initial prototype to the production-ready controller. Our tasks include the creation of requirements, implementation and integration for the application areas of basic software, diagnostics and function development, and application development. Our competencies also include tool chain provision and the qualification of the required software tools.
Testing is an integral part of development. It ensures high quality and the highest safety standards for battery and steering systems (supported vehicle systems). To achieve this, we rely on the most advanced technologies and methods.
Our key technologies and methods include virtual test benches, process automation of test management systems and automated test validation.
We create challenging test environments and use proven test methods designed to the strictest norms and standards.
In change management, we coordinate and monitor technical requests and changes during development until the start of series production. We issue deviation permits and release plans. And we are no strangers to technical assessments and approval recommendations while adhering to costs, quality and time.
We also handle design activities and perform tolerance analyses within the framework of the development process.
Finally, we handle the series support of test rigs, such as fatigue testing for chassis components and damaged part analyses for mechanical steering components.
