As an aircraft engineer, before a plane starts its engines, I check the function of the various components such as the wings, engines and landing gear. To maintain the components, I use the usual materials found in aviation, such as iron, metal and plastic. In the specialist field of maintenance technology, I use the aviation technology regulations, manufacturer specifications and operational quality management guidelines that are in force at the time of the maintenance work. After planning the work steps, the maintenance, installation, dismantling and repair instructions are followed and testing and diagnostic systems are used to check the engines, motors, electrical installations and aircraft technology systems. If there are any discrepancies between the target and actual values, the aircraft engineer must rectify them and ensure fault-free functioning.
