The most important trends in industry and retail include the increasing degree of shared work in product, the minimisation of capital cost-intensive warehouse stocks and the globalisation of procurement and sales markets. These developments are placing major demands on logistics. The constantly growing competitive pressure is also forcing both logistics and industrial and retail companies to focus on optimising their business processes and organisational structure and to break new ground with them.

Study of logistics with practical experience

The logistics with practical experience course is a business management and logistics-centred course. The syllabus focuses on transport and logistics. Skills are also taught in the fields of general business management, law and foreign languages. Alongside technical content, this Bachelor's course also focuses on the teaching of soft skills, such as moderation and presentation techniques and conflict and innovation management, since these skills are becoming increasingly important in modern management processes. Areas of focus during training to become an industrial clerk

  • Business organisation and functional contexts, legal principles
  • Performance of general office and administrative duties, e.g. correspondence, running of haulage logs
  • Basic knowledge of the procurement market: various modes of goods transport (truck, rail, ship and aircraft), storage and turnaround of goods, additional services
  • Sales market: compare haulage company services, conclude agreements with haulage firms
  • Take care of goods shipments for third parties: choice of transport services, conclusion of haulage, freight, warehousing and turnaround contracts, procurement of additional services
  • Invoicing: Payment transactions, controlling, cost and service billing (TU)
  • Service provision: provision of haulage services, handling of haulage orders, invoicing of haulage services
  • Preparing and following up on, holding and organising customer advice meetings
