Digitalisation Manager (m/f/x) | Apprenticeship

The digitalisation manager apprenticeship (m/f/x) offers an exciting combination of business management expertise and technical know-how. Put simply, you will learn how to digitalise processes at Volkswagen. You will also find out what your department and other departments need to do this. Then you will determine which programs or tools can be used, and you’ll also develop optimised and user-friendly IT applications. In addition, you will search for effective solutions in the event of system errors or interruptions. You will take data protection provisions into account throughout all your activities.

During your apprenticeship at Volkswagen Group Services, you will become familiar with a variety of work assignments and locations. For example, you will change departments every 3-6 months, which will allow you to learn more about the Business Operation Services, Human Resources Management Services & Reporting, and Technology divisions.

    Apprenticeship content – Digitalisation Manager (m/f/x)

    1. 1

      First apprenticeship year

      On-boarding weekstogether with all apprentices in the apprenticeship year.

      Digitalisation managers (m/f/x) will learn, among other things: 

      • to plan, prepare and implement tasks in line with customer-specific business and service processes 
      • to assess marketable IT systems and customer-specific solutions 
      • to develop, implement, manage and maintain IT solutions

      Second apprenticeship year

      Preparation for the mid-term examtogether with other apprentices.

      Digitalisation managers (m/f/x) will learn, among other things: 

      • to implement and document quality assurance measures 
      • to implement, integrate and review IT security and data protection measures
      • to identify information requirements and make available any data needed 
      • to apply business management instruments and controls 

      During the second apprenticeship year, each apprentice can apply for a stay abroad within the scope of the apprenticeship and become familiar with one of the international locations of Volkswagen Group Services GmbH, such as Lisbon (Portugal) or Bratislava (Slovakia).

    3. 3

      Third apprenticeship year

      Preparation for the final exam together with other apprentices. 

      Digitalisation managers (m/f/x) will learn, among other things: 

      • to implement measures for success-based management and controlling of value creation processes and to decide on pricing policies on the basis thereof  
      • to prepare information and data  
      • to digitally further develop companies
    Requirements for apprentices

    You should have:

    • Organisational and communication skills 
    • Good analytical skills  

     

    Language skills:

    • Basic command of English

     

    School leaving qualification:

    You have a good general certificate of secondary education (Realschulabschluss).

      Industrial Manager (m/f/x) | Apprenticeship

      As an industrial manager (m/f/x) you are the interface between sales and production. You are also responsible for tasks in the areas of materials, personnel and finance. During your training, you will be prepared for everyday work in all important areas of the company.

        • Which budget is required for which department?
        • What are monetary transactions, controlling and cost accounting?

      3. 3

        Third apprenticeship year

        Preparation for the final exam together with other apprentices.

        • How do I go about finding the right employees?
        • What are the staffing requirements for each department?
        • What is the right way to compare quotes?

      Requirements for apprentices

      You should have:

      • An interest in all business processes within an industrial company
      • A willingness to learn new information and communication techniques and put them into practice
      • An interest in the inner workings of a business
      • The ability to work well in a team

       

      Language skills:

      • Basic command of English

       

      School leaving qualification:

      You have a good secondary school leaving certificate, a technical or general higher education entrance qualification.

      Logistics Manager (m/f/x) | Apprenticeship

      As a logistics manager (m/f/x), you plan shipments, select means of transport and transport routes or prepare freight and customs documents. Friendly interaction with customers and service providers is particularly important.

      Requirements for apprentices

      You should have:

      • Organisational and communication skills
      • Economic thinking
      • Basic knowledge of EDP

       

      Language skills:

      • Basic command of English
      • French or Spanish would be a plus

       

      School leaving qualification:

      At a minimum, a good school leaving qualification is recommended.

      Specialist in Warehouse Logistics (m/f/x) | Apprenticeship

      As a specialist in warehouse logistics, my responsibilities include logistics processes such as inbound and outbound logistics, accepting, shipping and managing goods. I work in the warehouses of the original parts department and materials management as well as in the material flow planning and organisation departments.

      Why work with us?

      At Volkswagen Group Services, the car is the key focus of logistics. I will become familiar with the car shuttle train in the car factory or the on-time delivery to manufacturing. I will be transferred every three to six months to a new and exciting department.

      1. 1

        First apprenticeship year

        On-boarding weeks together with all apprentices in the apprenticeship year.

        Furthermore, every specialist in warehouse logistics will be able to earn a forklift driver’s license.

        Preparation for the mid-term exam together with other apprentices.

        Third apprenticeship year

        Preparation for the final exam together with other apprentices.

        • How do I learn how to handle technical information and communication tools?
        • How should I handle hazardous substances?
        • Which technical aids are available in the warehouse and how do I use them?

        These and other questions will be answered in the third apprenticeship year.

      Requirements for apprentices

      You should have:

      • an interest in technology and business
      • general IT knowledge
      • logical thinking
      • a sense of order, independence and reliability
